For songbirds returning along the migration route, Magee Marsh is a stop off point to top up on calories before continuing thier journey onward to thier final destination.
In the middle two weeks of May Magee Marsh is a hot spot for both bird watchers and photographers alike.
Many of the warblers return here each year in prolific numbers, giving us an opportunity to photograph these tiny birds which should not be missed.
Equipment can range from a moderate zoom lens to large telephotos, but I found the 80 to 400mm lens was more than adequate to take in the action.
A boardwalk around the marsh provides easy acces to the birds.
